Being Healthy Part 1

  Being healthy can take on many meanings, however the two most common meanings of being healthy is one that consumes a healthy diet and is physically active. To your surprise, those are the two things that this post won’t be focusing on. There are many things, other than fitness and nutrition, that play a large role in determining if someone is healthy or not. One can eat a healthy diet and be physically active, but if they’re not working on other areas of their life, then they still might not be healthy. Some things that can affect your health are: Stress & Overwhelm Lack of sleep Depression & Grief Lack of socialization Lack of family time Isolation Lack of self care Little to no alone time Bottling up emotions And Many More I’m going to focus more on the first three in this post because the rest tie into the first three and I will discuss further in future posts. The Start. Where is it?

  The start to just about everything is usually the hardest part of whatever it is you are trying to do. However, I don’t believe that it’s only, “the start” that is the hardest part, I feel the “build up” plays a big role on why things are so hard to start doing. Think about most things that are hard for us to do, first days of school/work, first dates, new routines/hobbies, etc. These things are hard at first because we all have a fear of the unknown and because we fear the unknown we build up scenarios in our head of what might happen. These scenarios are usually negative, and they usually paint a bad picture of yourself completing failing at what you want to do. You start thinking that you’re going to trip and fall in the hallway in front of everyone on your first day of school and everyone will point and laugh at you and you will be known as the clutz for the rest of the year.
